A Sign’s engagement on the new QUT Science & Technology Precinct at Gardens Point campus was seen as a great opportunity to be part of an innovative education precinct. This was further enhanced when we were asked to realise the major identity signage which was at conceptual signage only. Our design and construct process led to many hours work with structural and electrical engineers to optimise the solution for LED illuminated building signs. QUT seized the opportunity to do more with their branding by incorporating sculptural elements into the design providing a dynamic night time experience for those students and visitors walking beneath the sign whilst presenting a clean and innovative solution for viewers on the SE freeway and opposite river bank. Conceptual design by dotdash.
